If you are suffering from your ADSL Net getting disconnected in 5 - 10 minutes after connecting and then nothing works then this is the solution for you. Many people suffer from the problem. After a few minutes of their connecting to Internet, a weird Win32 Service error shows up and then you can neither disconnect Internet nor can you reconnect it. All you can do is just restart the machine and then go through this process all over again and again.

Microsoft did provide patches for the same later but by then the problem was resolved by the experts. Also those people who do not have fast Internet cannot use those patches. So is there a solution for it without downloading the patches and just tweaking some settings in Windows XP. Fortunately the answer is yes. There are just 2 changes that you need to make. They are described in detail below:

First of all comes system security. So when you start Registry Editor (method is shown below) take a backup of the Registry as this is one of the core components of your Windows Installation. Backing up registry would help you to restore the changes you will make and would save you from a lot of headache later on. To create a backup of registry, navigate to File and click on Export. This will create a backup of your registry which can be restored again.

Click on Start button in the taskbar and navigate to Run. Type "regedit" without quotes in it and press enter. Now on the left panel, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand it and navigate to SYSTEM. Then navigate to CurrentControlSet. In it expand NetBT. Navigate to Parameters. Now in the right panel locate TransportBindName. Just double click it and delete the default value which currently is Devices.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> System --> CurrentControlSet --> NetBT --> Parameters --> TransportBindName

Now navigate again to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In it locate Softwares. Now go to Microsoft and expand it. Locate Ole in it. Now in the right panel just locate the value EnableDCOM. The default value in would be Y. Double click it and make the default value N. Now just close Registry Editor and restart the machine. Connect to Internet and voila the net now no longer gets disconnected.

You could also have changed the values of NetBIOS but generally changing the values of these two parameters would eliminate the problem for all. You would not be required to change those values.

Xbox 360 3 Red Lights - What Causes the Error and How to Fix it Easily

It won't be a misnomer to say that the arrival of the Xbox 360 console has revolutionized the gaming scene around the world. The Xbox 360 3 red lights actually comes up in order to issue you a warning that the console is having to deal with excessive heat and that you need to therefore switch it off immediately.

With the Xbox 360 3 red lights error being a common one, many methods too are available to fix it nowadays. The basic trick is to bring down the temperature inside the console. One effective method to fix the Xbox 360 3 red lights error is to take a Ziploc bag and then put an ice pack inside it. This bag should be then placed on top of the gaming console, only till such time you feel that the system has cooled down. This quick fix method is known to work effectively in fixing the error.

Okay, so we've been hearing whispers all morning that Palm and Sprint are gearing up to launch the Pixi on October 20th, and while we hate to be the bearer of bad news, we've been in contact with sources who would definitely have a better perspective on this phone's launch, and the word is that the aforementioned date is not accurate. So when will the Pixi launch? We'd still say it'll be well before the holidays -- and now that the Pre is down to $79, we're hoping it'll be super cheap. Fingers crossed.

Palm Pixi to launch on October 20th? Not so fast. originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 02 Oct 2009 15:59:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

Verizon Discontinues Verizon Hub - Sorry Verizon, my iPhone does that...

Back in January Verizon unveiled the "Verizon Hub," a multi-function unit built by Open Peak that integrated VoIP, mobile phone service, and a slew of features into a single touch screen broadband device. At the time, Verizon crowed that the unit's launch was "a dynamic move sure to rattle devotees of plain old home phones." Apparently, not so much. According to gadgeteer Dave Zatz Verizon today announced the death of the Hub, and Verizon was apparently part of the reason the unit didn't sell well:

The Hub was designed to be both an Internet-connected widget station and serve as the household VoIP hub with a bit of PIM functionality thrown in to sweeten the deal. It probably wasn't the meh resistive touch screen that did it in but, rather and as I predicted, a failure of marketing and pricing. Requiring the Hub to be purchased solely via Verizon Wireless at $200 plus $35/month with a two year contract is pretty steep barrier to entry when introducing a new product category to the mainstream.
Not only was the Hub's pricing unappealing, but early reviews of the unit also noted that most of the unit's features came with restrictions or caveats, like only being able to send text messages to Verizon phones, and a calendar and contact system that couldn't sync with either your phone or cloud services. Verizon has a habit of shooting usefulness in the foot (see their femtocell that saves Verizon tower capacity, yet mysteriously eats voice minutes).

In addition to being expensive and packed with limitations engineered by Verizon, the Hub of course also came with Verizon's proud history of billing and support issues free in the box. Verizon also didn't appear to know what niche the device filled either, the Hub being way too pricey for a regular family facing a recession, and not really needed by higher-end customers who get all the intended functionality via desktops, laptops and smartphones.

UK Street Maps

Just type Tmnet Malaysia town and street name or click the map: shows your street map in the UK and satellite view.

The line between online content and the offline lowyat streamyx is quickly eroding. For years it has been common place to include a web address on marketing materials, package wrappers, and signage, streamyx internet these addresses required the viewer to maintain an interest in a company or website from the point of discovery to they reach a computer, or to peck out an address on a cell phone. This gap in access between discovery and information, allows for any number of distractions to swoop in and siphon off a customer who might be fence sitting on a product. A unique combination of several technologies is doing what it can to erase this gap. That practice, already widespread in Japan, is set to make the jump to the United States in the near future.

The concept is called "mobile tagging" and it typically involves a two-dimensional barcode, a camera phone, and a webpage created specifically for mobile phone browsers.

The two-dimensional barcode is not necessarily a new invention, having been created in both the United States and Japan almost simultaneously in the mid-1990s. The result is a barcode that makes use of blots, or boxes, or dots rather than simple vertical lines. These mobile wireless internet are able to encode a great deal of streamyx hotspot - an upper limit of 4000 or so characters compared to the twenty or so of a traditional barcode. The ability to pack that much data into such a tiny spot has turned the barcode from a simple method of tracking into a means to relay human-meaningful information.

The cell phone isn't new either. However, the wide scale proliferation of mobile phones was paired by the addition of inexpensive digital cameras and access to the mobile internet. With the aide of relatively simple programs, mobile phones could learn to read matrix barcodes, and if the barcode contained a web address, the mobile phone could access the website right then. The gap between discovery and access was stopped.

The concept itself seems rather simple. However, it's the applications that hold a great deal of potential. The matrix barcode, when used in mobile tagging, has several advantages over the written web address.

First, and perhaps foremost, the viewer does not know exactly what to expect when they view a matrix barcode without a camera which can read it. Sure, the viewer can garner some basic assumptions from context clues, but where the code points to is actually a mystery. To capitalize on the mystery, it is common for two-dimensional barcodes to be served without context clues on plain white billboards. For a viewer, the need to understand, the need to justify such a massive barcode, is prompt enough actively respond to the tag, pull out a cell phone and snap a photo. At that point, the website is a click away and the viewer has done a great deal of the leg work in become an actual consumer.

Another advantage of using a two-dimensional barcode over a printed web address: long and specific addresses are preferred rather than forbidden. Customers engaging in mobile tagging can be directed to specific landing pages, tailored not only for a mobile device, but also based on geo-location. When a unique two-dimensional barcode is created based on the location in which it will be displayed, or to match the content it is paired with, the end result is targeted information that is greatly more relevant to the viewer. The more relevant the content, the greater the chance of turning a visitor into a customer.

Not all two-dimensional barcodes are simply marketing tools, though. Nor do they have to contain a simple web address. In Japan, matrix barcodes have replaced nutritional labels on food packages - redirecting the viewer to a mobile webpage that contains that information instead. Another common use is location-specific information, which is particularly popular in the tourism industry. A two-dimensional barcode next to a work of art or historic building can direct visitors to information that is far too detailed and lengthy to fit on a sign.

In the end, the variety of uses for two-dimensional barcodes is largely limited only by the imagination of the creator. Much as the internet is freeing ideas and connecting individuals, the question one should be asking about mobile tagging is "How could the internet help my situation if it weren't bound to a computer?" After all, this isn't a technology that's bound solely to Japan. Currently in Apple's App store, there are no fewer than three mobile tagging programs for the device. Mobile tagging is coming.

It Speed Up Dsl Adsl Availability year 2006, why are you still stuck using Dial-up? Dial-up or 56k V90 is without a doubt slower than a snail. You should consider switching to broadband. But why should you? You are pretty patient as it is, waiting and waiting and yes waiting. With broadband you can do more browsing and you don't even have to worry about being disconnected! So why haven't you switched? Your only Free Broadband for not having broadband could be that it dial up isp not be offered currently in your area.

What exactly is broadband? For one of those computer nerd tm net malaysia definitions, broadband is a word that refers to a signal or circuit which includes or handles a wide range of frequencies. This essentially means that the wider the range of frequencies the more information that can be controlled (more upload and download). It can be a bit confusing but it just means simply that 56k (or Dialup) can't support much information so that's why it is slower.

What can you do with broadband that you can't do with dialup? You can do everything you do with dialup but faster. You can send and receive pictures from friends or family in a matter of seconds. You can play online games (if you want) faster. You can even check your email without having to wait minutes upon minutes. I promise you, that you will not regret leaving dialup...except for that funny noise that it makes when connecting. Broadband doesn't feel like a snail is walking faster than you are browsing.

So where can I get broadband? You can obtain broadband from a variety of sources. If you have satellite, they offer broadband; if you have cable they also offer it and even your telephone company offers broadband. I would have to recommend going through you're cable provider for broadband if it is available in your area. If it isn't, you should usually check with your telephone company and inquire about DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). Satellite broadband costs a little more than DSL or Cable. After stating that, there are three kinds of service offered by Satellite companies.

The three kinds of satellite service available are One-way Multicast, One-way with terrestrial return and finally Two-way (which is the best). One-way Multicast is pretty much not worth looking into. You can view the web, but you can't do much more than that. One-way with terrestrial return is a bit interesting since you use a dialup-like system. What sets it apart from basic dialup though is that downloads are sent from a satellite and not from the telephone line. Those speeds are nearly as fast as those with broadband! The third kind is called Two-way, it transmits to a satellite and than to a hub.

I respect that the decision is up to you if you want to switch to broadband. But if you spend a third of your life in the bathroom, as well as a third sleeping, wouldn't you prefer to spend the remaining third doing something else other than waiting for a webpage to load?

There are ways to repair you Xbox's controller cord. Firstly, cut away pandora internet radio chewed or damaged portion of the cord, and strip back the insulation by a couple of inches. Then, remove the shielding leaving a half inch or so, which can be patched back with some foil later. Then strip a quarter inch of the wires, and tin them with soldier. By keeping the joins separated, there is much less chance of the wires shorting, and this also allows your patch to be smaller in width since the electrical tape if spread out further, and not in a single area. Solder them together, wrapping things to do in kuala lumpur with electrical tape individually. Repeat the process for each wire, and then tape the whole bundle together. Next, to repair your Xbox wrap the bundle in tinfoil, and make sure to make contact with the tinfoil and remaining shielding. This helps cut down on interference. Lastly, wrap it all up in electrical tape, making the whole thing as solid as possible, so that it does not bend. This prevents the possibility of you having to open it up again for more repairs.

The very basic thing to do to repair your Xbox is to unplug the power cord and the AV cable from the console, and clean the AV metal. Usually this works. If you see there there's a lot of dirt, put just a bit of alcohol on your internet providers and clean. Then reconnect everything, firmly. However, if it doesn't work, then what you need is a repair guide. A Xbox repair guide may be helpful to diagnose and show you how to repair your machine. Find a repairs for Xbox guide on the internet and make sure it has a 60 day money back guarantee so you will be satisfied.

You may need to repair your Xbox because it may have the problem of sticky buttons. This takes just half an hour, and prevents you from losing the game because of a missed shot, a weapon switch. So take out the faulty controller, get the necessary tools required, find the screws, unscrew them and remove them. Then flip the controller back so that the screw holes are down, lift off the top cover. Don't get agitated at the buttons falling over the place. Then comes the cleaning. Use some mild soapy water on a rag to clean it up. Don't use window cleaner, or other such harsh cleaning. However, the important thing to remember here is that you must let it dry totally and completely before using it again. Once it has dried, put the top cover back, screw everything back into place. A good suggestion for effective Xbox repair here is to not soak the top cover in water, as the emblem gets misty.
